Foster Grandparents devote their volunteer service to children with exceptional needs, encouraging them to explore their potential. By providing attention, academic guidance and support in schools and daycares throughout the county, Foster Grandparents help children develop academic and social skills for success.
Individuals age 55 and over who thrive on direct interaction with children make good Foster Grandparents.
By listening and offering kind words of encouragement, Foster Grandparents invest in our youth for a brighter future and get a great deal of satisfaction from making a difference. Income-eligible Foster Grandparents also receive a modest tax-free stipend for 20 hours of service per week, as well as:
- Pre-service and ongoing training
- Accident and liability insurance while on duty
- Mileage reimbursement
