Foster Grandparents
Making connections with children
Foster Grandparents devote their volunteer service entirely to children with special needs. They help these children in many ways by providing attention, academic guidance and support in schools and daycares throughout the county.

Individuals age 60 and over who thrive on direct interaction with children make good Foster Grandparents.
Foster Grandparents provide strong emotional connections with children and get a great deal of satisfaction from making a difference in their lives. Income-eligible Foster Grandparents receive a modest tax-free stipend for 20 hours of service per week, and:
- Pre-service and ongoing training
- Accident and liability insurance while on duty
- Mileage reimbursement
Enrollment requirements:
-
Age 55 or older
- Must meet income guidelines
