Senior Companions
Making positive impacts on their peers!
Senior Companions are powerful friends to have. They make the lives of the people they serve less lonely while offering assistance with important tasks and encouragement to stay active.
Not only do Senior Companions assist elderly clients by helping them to find a way to do such chores as grocery shopping and accessing transportation to appointments, they also make the lives of the people they serve less lonely. For many, these everyday things are the difference between living at home and moving to a nursing home.
Senior Companions receive a tax-free stipend for 20 hours of service per week. In addition, they receive:
- Pre-service and ongoing training
- Accident and liability insurance while on duty
- Mileage reimbursement
Enrollment requirements:
- Age 55 or older
- Must meet income guidelines
